Are you looking for a partner to design and manufacture an optical or electro-optical sensor? Whether you are looking for complete design and manufacturing, or whether you already have a concept or prototype and are looking for a manufacturing partner, Prime Photonics can help you.
Sensor Development
For the past 20 years, Prime Photonics has been a leader in the development and commercialization of advanced optical sensors and systems for commercial and defense applications. Many of our systems are laser-based and include both sensors and interrogators. Several systems are adapted to high temperatures and harsh environments.
Prime Photonics supplies optical sensor products to major turbo machinery and rotating equipment manufacturers, developers and other stakeholders, for rotor blade and drive train vibration and health monitoring. We also provide custom-designed and manufactured optical solutions, such as blade balance/tracker systems which Prime supplies to a major helicopter manufacturer and which are used globally at their production facilities, or resistors powered by fiberoptic connections.
Many of our technical staff hold advanced degrees in their field of specialization including optical design, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics design, real-time signal processing and software engineering. Prime Photonics maintains a powerful suite of modeling, simulation and engineering design software, as well as major test and measurement equipment.
Prime Photonics utilizes a proven Product Development Management System (PDMS) to guide the development of all new products through a gated process, resulting in a robust, tested product ready for commercialization on schedule and within budget constraints.
Our step-by-step approach to development, with clear milestones communicated to the customer upfront, drives the success of all our development projects.
Building Blocks For Rapid Prototyping
Over the years we have developed our own "building blocks" which we use for proof of concept and rapid prototyping of new sensor designs before moving on to a finished product. These building blocks include optical elements, electro-optical devices, and electronic components such as:
- Numerous optical probe designs
- Laser and photodetector modules
- Optical oscilloscope in a PXIe format
- Photodiode amplifier (VL900)
- PXIe real-time analog to digital card
- TTL converter module
