February 23, 2017 (Blacksburg, VA) – Prime Photonics welcomes Tim Davis to the Prime Photonics team as Director of Sales. Prior to joining Prime Photonics, Tim served 10 years with Siemens (formerly Rolls-Royce Energy), most recently as New Unit Business Director. From 1999 to 2007 Tim was General Manager for 1420 Corporation where he turned around a financially challenged company in 1999 to a consistent profit generator in 2007. Prior to 1420 Corporation, Tim served in various roles for Columbia Gas System, including Director of Market Development, during which time he developed and marketed the United States’ first factory built natural gas transit bus, which is widely in use across the US today. Tim has an exceptionally strong background in Sales and Marketing, Project Management and Business Management, and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech

September 28, 2016 (Berlin, Germany) – Today at the Gas Turbine Institute (GTI) 2016 EVI-GTI and PIWG joint conference on Gas Turbine Instrumentation in Berlin, Germany, Malcolm Laing, Director of Products for Prime Photonics, made the presentation “Hot section demonstration of an uncooled multi-function blade tip clearance and timing sensor”. In the talk, Mr. Laing discussed a recent hot section engine test in which Prime Photonics performed Blade Tip Timing and Blade Tip Clearance measurements. The Prime Photonics FOCIS™ optical probes were installed post-combustor and did not require cooling during operation in the extremely hot turbine section of the engine.
