We are looking for a highly self-motivated and creative engineer or scientist. The ideal applicant will show proficiency in research planning, execution, and reporting including hands-on experimentation and data interpretation. Expectations include:

  • Collaborate with teams on multiple simultaneous projects
  • Contribute to the innovation process and setting of strategic direction for research activities
  • Write proposals for funded Federal and commercial research and engineering projects
  • Serve as Principal Investigator/Project Manager for commercial and Government-funded research and development projects
  • Present at technical conferences, publish in trade magazines, journals and proceedings

Required Skills

  • Project Management and Principal Investigator experience
  • Experience with mathematical software (Mathematica, MATLAB or similar
  • Proficiency with laboratory optical, optical electronic, and electronic instrumentation
  • Good written communication skills with significant research proposal writing experience

Technical project management, proposal writing experience, SBIR or other Federal projects experience is required. Experience in any of the following areas is a significant plus: turbomachinery, optical sensors, non-destructive inspection technologies (ultrasonics and/or Eddy current), magnetic sensors, or additive manufacture. Some travel is required. Education requirements are Ph.D. in engineering or scientific discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience.
