We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with rotating equipment design or analysis experience to join our team and assist us with the development of products and applications relating to gas turbine rotor blade vibration monitoring, shaft torsional vibration and torque sensing and related rotating equipment test, diagnostic and condition monitoring applications.
The successful candidate will work with our Product and R&D teams in developing and applying innovative sensing technologies to real-world propulsion and power applications for test, diagnostics and condition monitoring of turbomachinery and other rotating equipment. Current projects include rotor vibration monitoring, foreign object damage (FOD) detection, compressor stall detection, rotor blade crack detection and shaft monitoring (torque and torsional vibration).
The ideal applicant should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, is self-motivated, and has strong communication skills. Candidates should have experience in rotor dynamics, structural dynamics, or vibratory analysis.
- Performing structural, thermal and vibratory analyses and modeling,
- Deriving technology and product requirements with customers and technical staff,
- Commercial and Government proposal preparation,
- Technical paper writing and conference presentations,
- Test planning, execution, data analysis and reporting.
Rotating equipment design or analysis experience is required, and experience in one or more of the following areas is a significant plus: rotating equipment diagnostics and condition monitoring, industrial equipment drive train design and commissioning, gas turbine instrumentation, and non-destructive inspection technologies. Some travel is required. Education requirements are M.S.M.E. with 5 years of relevant experience.
